Gluing the Pearls

Gluing the Pearls

The Moratuwa University Textile Association (MUTA) proudly conducted the 2025 edition of “Gluing the Pearls” on the 30th of April, bringing to life one of its core values — fostering strong, meaningful connections between alumni and undergraduates.

This year’s session was uniquely significant, as it was conducted by the alumni of the 23rd batch, who returned to their academic roots not just as guests, but as mentors. With years of industry experience and valuable lessons to share, the alumni engaged with the 35th batch of final-year students, guiding them on the transition from university life to professional careers in the textile and apparel sector.

The event featured engaging conversations, real-world insights, and practical tips on navigating challenges, setting career goals, and thriving in a competitive industry. The openness and relatability of the alumni created an inspiring and comfortable environment, allowing students to ask questions, seek advice, and gain confidence for the journey ahead.

This initiative exemplifies MUTA’s commitment to continuous engagement, mentorship, and mutual growth among its members. Events like Gluing the Pearls not only empower students but also give alumni a chance to give back meaningfully to the department and future professionals of the industry.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the 23rd batch for their time, generosity, and leadership, and to the 35th batch students for participating with enthusiasm and curiosity.

MUTA will continue to organize such programs to strengthen the bridge between academia and industry — one pearl at a time.
