"During the unexpected pandemic situation, a series of moral support sessions were organized by MUTA. These virtual sessions were conducted by a certificated yoga instructor, Nirvana Fernando. Due to the unfavorable situation, students were in with the COVID-19 infection, this event was beneficial for both physiological and psychological development.
In the content, mind relaxation and meditation techniques were practiced and guidance to free up the mind from negative psychological effects including post- traumatic stress symptoms, confusion, and anger. Also, essential yoga poses, and asanas were demonstrated, and step-by-step guidance was given to maintain good physical health not only during this pandemic situation but also in normal day-to-day life.
As a person with Covid-19, I personally felt the importance and the appropriateness of this session as it has helped me to overcome the emotions during the 14-day quarantine period and to achieve physical easiness with breathing exercises, yoga techniques, and meditation. As a student of the department of textile and apparel engineering who has benefitted from this session, I would like to express my heartiest gratitude to MUTA and Mrs. Nirvana Fernando for organizing and conducting these fruitful sessions”.
